The Fairest Newsletter isn’t just named after my book. I’m deeply invested in balancing inequities in our society, which is one of the major subjects of my book at a personal level, but I also want it to operate in society and what this newsletter is going to be about.

I’m in the unusual position of having come from a marginalized background and have since managed to navigate circles of privilege from Harvard to Condé Nast, and one of the main things I’ve learned is how stacked the deck is against other folks from marginalized backgrounds, especially people who are poor.

So I’m doing this free writing newsletter as a way to try to make things more fair to those who cannot afford to go to fancy schools but still have a strong yearning to write. I’m planning to keep this newsletter free indefinitely in the hope that as many people as possible can benefit from it. Hence, The Fairest Newsletter.
